Designed to help you make a smooth transition to GroupWise 8, in this course you learn how to upgrade your existing GroupWise environment to Novell GroupWise 8 on both NetWare® and Linux.

You then build a shared storage device on which you install a GroupWise Basic System consisting of a Domain and Post Office and see how to create the loading and/unload scripts and migrate the GroupWise services from one node to another.

The focus of this training module is Novell''s GroupWise Mobile Server solution. The GroupWise Mobile Server is used to synchronize a user's email, tasks and contacts between a Novell GroupWise system and PDA devices. The GMS will sync with Palm, Windows Mobile and Symbian devices. The main areas covered in this module will be the product architecture, design, installation and basic administration. audience summary

This class is for those who wish to introduce PDA synchronization to their environments. The GroupWise Mobile Server will allow an organization to sync most PDA devices, except Blackberry with their GroupWise systems.

Novell Domain Services for Windows, a suite of technologies available in Open Enterprise Server 2 SP1, provides cross-authentication capabilities between Windows Active Directory and Open Enterprise Services 2 Linux servers. It can also be configured as a stand-alone Domain Controller, emulating a Windows Active Directory Forest.

In this course, you learn the technologies involved in making this work. You will learn how to create cross-forest and cross-domain trust relationships between Active Directory and eDirectory. You will learn how to manage Group Policy Objects from the Windows XP Workstation utilities as if they were stored in Active Directory. In addition, see how to log in and consume resources from a Windows XP Workstation to eDirectory without a Novell Client.

Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 SP1 Linux ships with a new migration tool that makes moving services to OES2 SP1 Linux even easier. Not only can you migrate services, but now this tool makes it easy to transfer the very identity of your NetWare server to an OES2 SP1 Linux server.

In this training session, you will learn how to migrate data volumes, trustee rights, and other services from a NetWare server to an Open Enterprise Server-SP1 Linux Server, as well as transfer an ID of a NetWare server. ZENworks Application Virtualization is a new product from Novell that has the power to revolutionize how you deploy and run Windows applications. With this solution you can quickly and easily package an application into a virtual executable that can be run on any Windows 2000, XP, or Vista workstation without needing to install any software on the machine. This session will provide instruction on how to implement and administer Novell ZENworks Application Management.

Attendees will have an opportunity to package, customize and deploy several applications with ZENworks Application Virtualization. Students should be familiar with basic Windows concepts such as the Windows registry, Windows DLLs and how software is traditionally installed on Windows.

Because the ZENworks Configuration Management architecture is radically different from the traditional ZENworks Desktop Management architecture, you cannot perform an in-place upgrade of ZENworks Desktop Management to ZENworks 10 Configuration Management. However, ZENworks 10 Configuration Management provides a set of tools, called the ZENworks Migration Utility, to help you migrate your data from previous ZENworks products. The purpose of this course is to familiarize you with the ZENworks Migration Utility and the process for migrating a traditional ZENworks environment to ZENworks 10 Configuration Management. This course will focus on using the Add-on Asset Management Services available in the Enterprise Edition of ZENworks Configuration Mangement 10. This includes running the built in reports for Usage and learning how to create custom Usage Reports. Then students will learn how to use the License Mangement (Compliance) components of ZAM.
