Senior Vice President, General Manager of Global Alliances

Joe Wagner serves as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Global Alliances. He is responsible for driving strategic objectives and establishing major partnership ecosystems on which to build market relevance and growth businesses at Novell. This encompasses building strategic global partnerships with leading technology companies such as Dell, HP, IBM, Microsoft, SAP, Intel, AMD, VMware, Cisco and service provider companies such as Accenture, Verizon, Affiliated Computer Services and Atos Origin.

Since 2005, Mr. Wagner has served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Systems and Resource Management business unit. In this position he was responsible for the development of comprehensive information technology management solutions from desktop to data center including the Novell ZENworks and PlateSpin solution suites.

Before holding this position, Mr. Wagner served as Vice President of Global Field Operations at Novell and was responsible for global field strategy, structure, incentives and productivity, customer operations, and the global partner organization. He joined Novell in August 2003 as Vice President of North America Operations where he led the rollout of the North America model, and subsequently, the global field model now in place.

Before joining Novell, Mr. Wagner was Vice President of Transportation Solutions for Manhattan Associates and was the Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Logistics.com. Additionally, he has held numerous sales, marketing and operational executive positions over a 20-year technology career at Unitech Systems, Quantra Corporation and IBM.

Mr. Wagner holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.
