The smooth integration of configuration and security patch management infrastructures and user interface technologies allows you to integrate where it counts the most—in device and group management. As Novell ZENworks® Configuration Management discovers devices and deploys agents for configuration management, the device automatically becomes subject to patch management. When you need to configure a single device, you can also see the patch management status of that device and assign specific remediation (patch bundles) if necessary.

This device-level capability is mirrored at the group level and includes powerful features such as group assignment and mandatory patch baselines. These features allow administrators to selectively assign security patch bundles and then monitor, enforce and report on security patch policy via the mandatory baseline.

Device- and group-level patch management capabilities allow you to reduce parallel infrastructure costs and help you operate efficiently while ensuring that security policies are enforced.
