A standard "hardware" platform provided by the virtualisation, and easy to deploy and set up applainces.
At home I somply set up one PC as a VMWare virtual server, and in it I run a mail appliance, a VPN appliance, and a LAMP server.
Easy to setup, took about 3 hrs all up.
