According to a story from Pam Derringer in SearchEnterpriseLinux.com, Linux job openings on the Dice.com job website rose by 5.5% during the last half of 2009 in contrast to Windows listings which dropped by 4% during the same period.  According to Tom Silver, Dice.com senior vice president for North America, for IT professionals, the job outlook this year will continue to brighten over the next few months, especially for those with the best skills sets.

This week, Novell and The Linux Professional Institue (LPI), announced an international partnership to standardize their entry-level Linux certification programs on LPIC-1. Under the terms of the agreement, all qualified LPIC-1 holders will have the opportunity to apply for Novell Certified Linux Administrator certification without additional exams or fees.

As a result of the partnership announcement, there are 3,500 newly certified Novell Linux administrators in the workforce that are well positioned to take advantage of the increase in Linux job openings. Click here to learn if you qualify and improve your Linux skill set today.
