NetWare to Linux Mind Meld

October 11, 2005 4:48 pm

For a lot of folks for a lot of years, NetWare has been the IT bedrock for their businesses. As you probably know, NetWare services now run on Linux in Novell Open Enterprise Server, mixing that NetWare magic with Linux goodies like hardware consolidation, reduced licensing fees, increased security, application flexibility, etc., etc. To make sure the benefits of running NetWare services on Linux don't get held up unnecessarily, Novell is providing a free Web-based training course to help customers transfer their NetWare expertise to Linux (and there's a lot of NetWare expertise out there … some half a million certifications' worth).Called "Bridging NetWare Skills to Novell Open Enterprise Server Linux," the course covers common administration tasks like running executables and batch files and administering user accounts, among other things. The training is available now.
