SUSE Studio and Disters Recognized

April 5, 2011 1:33 pm

Last year, Novell launched SUSE Gallery and with it the Dister Awards, designed to celebrate innovators and inventors who build Linux-based software appliances using our appliance-building tool SUSE Studio. The competition was a huge success, with millions of appliance downloads and thousands of appliance builds.

This month, the influential industry publication PRWeek recognized the program and wrote a case study about why it was so successful. We're proud of the recognition and thank the thousands of Linux developers who participated (and if you missed it this year don't worry – we're planning a second competition in 2011).

We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Novell team that worked hard to make the launch of SUSE Gallery and the Disters so great, especially Charlotte Betterley, Peter Bowen, Frank Days, Darren Davis, Jenny Jessop, Liz Padula, Joanna Rosenburg, Cornelius Schumaker, Srinivasen Venkat and PAN Communications. Thanks everyone!
