Can’t get to Vancouver for the Winter Games? The Moonlight Team just made it that much easier to watch all the competition right from your desktop, anytime of day, in any part of the world. Starting today, Preview 2 of Moonlight 3.0 will be available to stream the Olympic broadcast live with features including Tivo-like “jump back” and even slow motion (which will come in handy when watching the aerial snowboarding and ski events!)

More details can be found on Miguel de Icaza’s blog. And if you are able to catch some of the events on Moonlight we’d love to hear how your experience was! Send comments and track back here.

Computerworld just published a story on 25 highly anticipated open source releases coming out this year and two Novell-sponsored community projects made the list.

The first, openSUSE 11.2 which is set for release in November. The second Novell-sponsored project on the list, Moonlight 1.0 also left Computerworld eagerly anticipating more. The Mono Project's update to Moonlight is expected this Fall.

There's lots of exciting things happening in open source this year. Is there an upcoming release of a project Novell sponsors or contributes to that you're looking forward to? Let us know.
