Novell Data Synchronizer FAQ


How do I know I am entitled to it?

Any customer who is current on maintenance for Novell GroupWise®, Novell Teaming or Novell Open Workgroup Suite (NOWS) is entitled to Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack. Customers who want a third-party connector (i.e. Microsoft SharePoint) need to purchase a license.

Is there an evaluation copy of Novell Data Synchronizer?

We currently do not have an evaluation version of the product.

What connectors exist today?

Novell currently offers connectors for Novell GroupWise, Mobility (ActiveSync enabled devices), Microsoft SharePoint, SugarCRM and salesforce.com.

What other connectors will there be?

Novell will be creating connectors for applications used by the majority of our customers such as ERPs, CRM, Team applications, etc.

What version of ActiveSync do you use?

ActiveSync Protocol ver 2.5

What devices support getting Novell GroupWise data?

Data Synchronizer supports major mobile platforms such as iPhone, Symbian, Android, Windows Mobile and Palm. For more details around supported devices, please visit the Data Synchronizer Wiki.

Does it support Blackberry?

Data Synchronizer does not support syncing data to Blackberry devices. If customers are looking to sync GroupWise data to Blackberry devices, they need to use Blackberry Enterprise Server.

What data syncs?

Data Synchronizer will sync email, contacts, calendar and tasks between applications and mobile devices.

My application isn’t listed—how do I integrate it?

Novell is providing an SDK for customers and partners to develop their own connectors.
