Novell eDirectory - Full Service Directory
Security: Audit
Tracks changes or transaction that occur in the directory.
With the many changes in corporate networks, Internet, and personal computing, a full service directory must provide the ability to track transactions to ensure accuracy and provide a record of any transaction. Additionally, it is critical to perform audits to ensure that mistakes can be corrected quickly.
Example:

The Novell eDirectory full service directory includes auditing services that allow administrators to monitor user's access to an organization's network and to record the monitoring information in audit log files. In this example a user logs in to the network, opens a file, changes his phone number, changes his password, and logs out. These transactions are recorded to a log file through the audit process.
