Novell eDirectory - Full Service Directory

Security: Authority

Empowers the user to grant or deny access to others in the directory.

The full-service directory does not decide who can or cannot access services. Rather, it recognizes the rights of a user with authority to permit or deny access. Furthermore, the Novell eDirectory full-service directory allows objects to hold authority over other objects and services represented in the directory.

Example:

In this example User A has been object and property rights over Object B. In this case Object B could be another user, a printer, a server, or any other object in the directory. User A can also be granted rights over a file or directory. A user with Supervisor rights can manage any object in the directory including the file system of a server.
