Novell eDirectory - Full Service Directory

Security: Enforcement

Controls the mechanisms used to ensure appropriate access to the contents of the directory.

The full-service directory has powerful control mechanisms to mandate the security policies established by the network administrator. The directory executes internal as well as external mechanisms to defend its contents against any person or agent attempting to circumvent these controls.

Example:

When an Novell eDirectory user is granted access to an object's attributes, a proper authentication of the user is required to access that attribute. In this example a security barrier stands between the clients and the directory. The user must pass through multiple levels of security to access the contents of the directory.
