Novell eDirectory - Full Service Directory
Relationship: Policy
Grants users and resources special consideration (desktop preferences, bandwidth, configuration setting, etc.) according to task-specific requirements.
Policies allow the directory to recognize that resource requirements among users are not the same and the Novell eDirectory full-service directory allows for the establishment and storage of policies that allocate resources in varying configurations. For example, you can establish a help desk policy, workstation configurations, router bandwidth, Internet access, and so on.
Example:

As an administrator you can create a policy that will allocate bandwidth to users of a particular application. In this example a policy is created to provide high router bandwidth to a group of people using an application that pulls large images across the Internet. When a user in this group starts the application, they are allocated greater bandwidth so that their application runs as optimally as possible.
