GroupWise Gateways

GroupWise® Gateways connect users of GroupWise to the external world of available messaging systems, message transport protocols, and communication standards. You can use gateways to build the best messaging system for your company's needs. For use with GroupWise 4.1 and above, the following products are available for no charge: Async Gateway, Gateway for Microsoft Exchange, and the Microsoft Mail Conversion utility. The following list includes all GroupWise Gateways currently available:

API Gateway (NLM) provides access to GroupWise messaging functions from within other applications through a simple text-file interface. API Gateway is included with GroupWise 4.1 Materials Pack and available with the Novell® Developer Kit.

Async Gateway (NLM) is an asynchronous gateway that enables GroupWise users to send and receive appointments, tasks, notes, mail, and telephone messages using a modem dial-up connection. Async Gateway is included with GroupWise 5.2 and 4.1.

Gateway for cc:Mail (Windows 2000/NT) enables GroupWise users and Lotus cc:Mail users to exchange messages transparently. It enables users to send unlimited attachments, provide automatic exchange and synchronization of directories, migrate from cc:Mail to GroupWise, and offers statistical and diagnostic logging of the gateway's performance. Gateway for Lotus Notes (Windows 2000/NT) enables GroupWise users and Lotus Notes users to exchange messages. It provides automatic and continuous directory synchronization. You can download Gateway for Lotus Notes at http://www.novell.com/download.

Gateway for Microsoft Exchange (Windows 2000/NT) enables GroupWise users and Microsoft Exchange users to communicate seamlessly by transporting and converting GroupWise messages into a format supported by Exchange. You can download Gateway for Microsoft Exchange at http://www.novell.com/download.

Gateway for Microsoft Mail (Windows 2000/NT) enables GroupWise users and Microsoft Mail users to exchange messages transparently. It enables users to send unlimited attachments, and GroupWise and Microsoft Mail to automatically exchange directories. You can download Gateway for Microsoft Mail at http://www.novell.com/download.

Microsoft Mail Conversion Utility enables Microsoft Mail for Windows users to convert messages to the GroupWise system format and send them to GroupWise users.

X.400 Gateway (NLM) enables GroupWise users to exchange messages with users on X.400-compatible public and private e-mail systems. It supports status messages, an unlimited number of users and attachments, and gateway aliases.
