And when you enable the integrated "push" technology, GroupWise Mobile Server pushes data to the mobile device (through a wireless carrier of your choice or over WiFi) as soon as it arrives in the user's inbox.

It also simplifies support, system administration, device management and security–making it easy to deploy wireless solutions to the ever-increasing number of mobile users in their organizations.

How to Get It

GroupWise Mobile Server is available at no cost to GroupWise customers with current maintenance or upgrade protection contracts. It is not available as a for-sale product. If you are interested in purchasing GroupWise maintenance or upgrade protection, please contact your Novell sales representative or channel partner. GroupWise Mobile Server and the appropriate activation keys will be delivered to the following customers in the following ways:

  • Anyone who wishes to download or evaluate GroupWise Mobile Server for use on their Palm Treo, Blackberry, Pocket PC, etc., can do so by visiting download.novell.com. The software available from this site includes a 90-day evaluation activation key.
  • Customers with existing maintenance or upgrade protection contracts will receive a permanent license key via the Customer Care Portal. This permanent key can be used to replace the 90-day evaluation license key included with the software.
  • New GroupWise customers--or those who purchase maintenance or upgrade protection after GroupWise Mobile Server ships--will receive the permanent license key as part of the order fulfillment process.
  • Customers who purchase or upgrade to the Novell Open Workgroup Suite with maintenance will also be entitled to GroupWise Mobile Server. These customers can download the software from download.novell.com and then replace the evaluation activation key with the permanent license key received during the order fulfillment process.

Scheduled Standby for GroupWise Mobile Server: Standard Installation Support
Get up and running with GroupWise Mobile Server Standard Installation Support and start boosting productivity now. With installation support, Novell walks you through the installation process and gets you up and running as soon as possible. No waiting around trying to figure out how to configure your system. Standard Installation Support includes the following services and is delivered via phone support:

  • Installation of GroupWise Mobile Server Software on one server
  • Installation of Secure Gateway (if applicable)
  • Connection to an external SQL database (if available)
  • Configuration of GroupWise Mobile Server for Push and Profile settings
  • Synchronization of data through two devices

Installation Support Process
Standard Installation Support for GroupWise Mobile Server will be handled through Novell's Scheduled Standby Service and is available worldwide in English. You receive up to 4 hours of assistance or Standby time and the following services:

  • Pre-Install call to discuss installation prerequisites to verify the installation environment meets installation requirements
  • Install call to install GroupWise Mobile Server and configure profile settings for GMS Management Console

Note: Three days' notice is required to schedule installation call; however quicker requests will be handled on a case by case basis and may be subjected to an increased price.
