Identity Manager Driver 1.0 for Remedy

A Component of the Identity Manager Integration Module for Help Desk

Learn more about Identity Manager Integration Modules packaging.

Overview

Identity Manager Driver 1.0 for Remedy, a component of the Integration Module for Help Desk, provides data identity integration between Novell® eDirectory™ and version 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0 of Remedy Action Request System (ARS), a platform for automating service management business processes.

Identity Manager Driver 1.0 for Remedy uses the Remedy Java* API to access Remedy objects and data. Preconfigured rules in the driver allow synchronization between eDirectory and Remedy ARS—for both users and groups.

The driver makes it easy to create and manage Remedy ARS users and groups with just a few simple changes to eDirectory data—and vice-versa. For example, the driver pulls new-employee data from eDirectory and pushes the information to Remedy ARS, where an account and password are automatically created. Identity Manager Driver for Remedy ARS can also synchronize other Remedy data to the directory.

Convenient and user-friendly, Identity Manager Driver for Remedy ships with pre-configured Identity Manager 2 policies for group and user management.

system requirements

  • Identity Manager 3.0 and higher
  • Software required by Identity Manager 3.0
  • Remedy ARS Server 5.0; the driver is tested against Remedy ARS on Windows NT/2000/2003 and Solaris 8/9

Note: Because the driver-required libraries exist only on Linux* and Windows*, the driver cannot be installed on a NetWare server.
