Nsure™ Identity Manager Driver 1.0 for User Management of SAP Software is a component of the Identity Manager Integration Module for Enterprise. This driver provides the ability to integrate user data between SAP modules and Novell® eDirectory™. The driver has received SAP Certified Integration status for the following:

  • SAP R/3 4.6 and SAP Enterprise Systems (BASIS)
  • SAP Web Application Server (Web AS) 6.20
Specifically, the driver delivers robust transformation capabilities so applications can process changes without the need for custom integration solutions. This functionality eliminates the need to re-enter the same data into multiple databases, saving time and the cost of manual, error-prone labor.

The Identity Manager framework—including the Identity Manager engine and Identity Manager Driver 1.0 for User Management of SAP Software—use XML and XSLT to convert data and events between eDirectory and SAP. As user information is added (created), modified, deactivated (disabled) or deleted in SAP or eDirectory, any tasks associated with these events are bidirectionally processed into corresponding SAP modules or eDirectory, in compliance with corporate policy. For example, if an employee changes departments within your organization, his or her new department user information is entered into SAP. Nsure Identity Manager Driver 1.0 for User Management of SAP Software then automatically translates this information to all other affected directories.

We recommend that you create the Driver Set object before you install Nsure Identity Manager Driver 1.0 for User Management of SAP Software. For more information about creating the Driver Set object, refer to Creating Driver Sets and Objects in the DirXML Administration Guide.

  • Novell DirXML 1.1 or higher
    Data is transferred securely between SAP HR and eDirectory via SSL. You must use DirXML version 1.1 or later in order to obtain the Remote Loader technology that securely transfers transactions between systems.
  • The host system where the driver shim is running must have the SAP Java Connector (JCO) client technology version 1.1x or 2.x installed to provide connectivity to the SAP system.
    This client is freely available to SAP customers and developer partners through SAP, and is provided for most popular server operating systems. You can download the JCO from the SAP Connectors site.
  • SAP R/3 version 4.5b and higher (SAP BASIS, including Enterprise R/3 host system) or SAP Web Application Server (SAP Web AS) 6.20.
  • As part of the installation, you can install the Remote Loader service on the SAP host system.
  • Novell eDirectory 8.6.2 or higher
  • ConsoleOne® 1.3.4 or higher
  • iManager 1.5 or higher
