Identity Manager Driver for SugarCRM
Overview
Identity Manager Driver for SugarCRM contains two separate drivers for connecting eDirectory with SugarCRM. When fully implemented the driver synchronizes employee and contact data between SugarCRM, eDirectory, and GroupWise.
The Employee Connector creates employee records in SugarCRM from employee objects in eDirectory. The driver is bi-directional. For example, network users created in eDirectory in the sales department will have a corresponding account and the same password created in SugarCRM. Alternatively, the sales department can add/modify/delete user accounts in SugarCRM and the changes will all be made in eDirectory.
The Contact Connector synchronizes SugarCRM accounts and contacts to eDirectory. Once in eDirectory, account and contact information can easily be moved into other systems. Policies can be created and stored in eDirectory which govern the movement of contact information. For example, a contact that is a "customer" in SugarCRM can be added/changed/deleted in Sugar, and the corresponding changes will occur in eDirectory and an order processing or accounts receivable module (SAP or PeopleSoft, for example).
The connector is often used to create contact information in the GroupWise address book.
The driver is open sourced and has an open source community on SugarForge. Customization, policies, and usage are widely shared.
