I manage the IT department for a large real estate company with several branch offices. Prior to iFolder and Netware 6, I had to maintain a NetWare server in each office so that sales agents could have a place to store files they generated on their pc's and laptops. With ifolder, I can now maintain one server for our entire residential sales division. I was also able to cut down on frame relay costs by cutting back on bandwidth and letting the agents access the iFolder over a less costly DSL connection. Server management is now concentrated in the corporate office, which cuts down on travel and admin time for remote offices. We estimate that iFolder will save our company over $100K during year 2002.

For over two years the Director of The Department of Administration for the State of Arizona has been requesting remote file access for telecommuting. (his pet project) It had to be easy for the users to use, easy to install and maintain, and fast. We tried VPN, WebDAV, and other possible solutions until the release of iFolder. After a short pilot test, we "rolled" iFolder out to all of our users. The Director was impressed enough to award me a Director's Recognition Award. In one short month we have 33 users telecommuting and have generated only two service calls both on install issues!

My District Director called around 10:30am to let me know he needed the quota adjustments submitted by Noon, or they would not be considered. But I was on the road, and since it was just a daytrip, I had left my laptop, with my spreadsheet, back at the office. And if I didn't get those numbers changed, I wasn't going to get a check for Q3. Even worse was my location, I was in the middle of nowhere Alabama with no chance of a highspeed connection or internet cafe. Then I remembered iFolder and portal services. Upon arriving in Hunstville, I quickly located Circuit City and talked the salesperson into letting me "Try Out" their cable modem service and the newest Sony Vaio Desktop. Using a PC on the showroom floor, I logged in to my iFolder account to locate the spreadsheet, made the changes and used the email gadget on the portal to email it back to my Director. I had the adjustments made, and submitted in time. All without needed a company PC, connection or software. Needless to say, I'm a huge iFolder fan, and really understand the advantages of OneNet.

I started playing with iFolder and put most of my data files into it on my laptop, including Quickbooks data and CodeWarrior NLM development work. Life was good until my laptop hard drive crashed- HARD! I was able to quickly order a new drive and install the iFolder client. Everything came back just fine, including the database files. I had to recreate some files, so now I have moved virtually all my data to iFolder.

I Just got my new laptop. As much as I loved carrying my encyclopedia of CD's, life was much easier... I had just installed iFolder at the office, and was preaching its usefulness to everyone around me. All my documents, PDF's, Client contacts, important files I was saving in my iFolder.. Coming back from work one night, I dropped into my friends place for a house warming. Hours later, I came back to my car only to find my car window stolen I hadn't been home yet - so I quickly checked for my laptop. Sure enough it was stolen...After experiencing a range of emotions, calling the police and employers, I went home and went on the Internet. Guess what started to syncAll my work was not gone. In fact, not only was my work NOT lostit was synchronizing! Knew there was a reason for moving excess resources to my iFolder...

Three weeks ago, I had a presentation to give for a customer. I had worked for three days on my presentation before going on the customer's site. Just before the beginning of the presentation, my laptop crashed. I was not able to recover my presentation. Thankfully, I had installed iFolder on my laptop and my presentation was synchronized on the ifolder server and I was able to download my presentation. The customer was very happy about my presentation and I was very happy to have installed iFolder.

I took a new Compaq Armada M700 out of the box, connected to the Internet, downloaded the small iFolder client and synched. I had a stopwatch in my hand - 7 minutes from start to finish I had my files. It really works!

I work as an IT consultant in a High School. Most of my work is planning educational IT systems, strategies, e-learning solutions and assisting the computer system administrator. I tested the NW6 and iFolder for a month while the school was closed due to Christmas holidays. On December 28th, I was notified that our NetWare 5.1 licenses were about to expire in just 3 days. It would be a catastrophe! I had recently sent our productivity server to memory expansion as part of our preparation for NetWare 6, and the return date was January 5th. I had plans to head up to the mountains, and anticipated returning around January 4th, 2002. - There would be 500 upset users, teachers and students. But there was a rescue: iFolder. I downloaded the new SEL licenses, uploaded to NW6 via iFolder, and after it installed to NW5 via adrem's remote console. Everything was fine, and no users - and especially the director of the school :) - had noticed a thing. I think, without iFolder I couldn't have done it, because there really was no other way (ftp, web server, etc) to do it. iFolder saved the first two workdays of a high school.

How iFolder Saved my Marriage.... I have always been a Quicken bill payer, until one day a long time ago, in a place far far away, my hard drive crashed. Ok, I am an IT guy. I know the value of backing up and backing up often and in those DOS days it was even easier top copy the files to a floppy. But I didn't and paid the price. My wife refused to go back to Quicken bill paying and forced me to use a composition book to keep track of our finances -- this was a real pain. No longer could I produce cool reports about where our money was going or press one key to complete a check. I was depressed. Then came iFolder. I am now allowed to use Quicken again and can track all my finances, pay bills fast and never have to worry about a back up again. I have configured Quicken to use files stored in my iFolder directory. The file magically syncs as I update our checkbook. I can work on the file from home on my desktop or my business lap-top as I travel around the world for work. The files are always up to date. My wife can check payments I make while in Germany on our desktop computer at home. All is in sync. All is beautiful again. Thanks to iFolder.

iFolder is a lifesaver for me each and every day... I have in excess of 2500 IE Favorites, and I add more virtually every day for both business and personal use. I installed the iFolder client on all 6 of my pc's at home and at work. I then moved my favorites folder from the default location in Windows 2000 and XP to my iFolder (when you move a favorites folder, Windows automatically makes the registry changes for you, so you can click on favorites in IE). Voila! My favorites are now kept in sync across all my computers at all times!!

I teach at Champlain College in the evening. I usually use a PowerPoint presentation and carry it around on a diskette. I use iFolder to bring files between work and home. At the start of a class last semester to my horror the diskette had been lost!! No PowerPoint presentation= a long 3 hours. Fortunately I found a computer, logged onto iFolder through a web browser and got my presentation. The students loved it!!

It's a classic one. I was a documenting a software installation done by a consultant at a customer of ours. The whole installation took 4 days. I placed the document (containing 30 pages) on my laptop in my local iFolder directory. At the end of the third day I threw my coffee over my laptop and my laptop was ruined, but the documentation was saved on iFolder. I took another pc, synchronized the files in iFolder and I could finish my document.

Saved my life, maybe. But I no longer have to remember where I put that file. Or go home and discover that the important file I need to work on is still back at the office. In fact, I take it so much for granted that if you were to take away iFolder now, I would really need saving.

I have made all the computers I use (about 10 different ones), have the "Favorites" folder inside iFolder. This allows me to make sure that all HTTP links are the same on all PCs. This has been the most useful part for me. Overall, iFolder has saved me lots of hours of coping files or burning CDs. I do not know how many hours or how much money (from blank cds) it has saved me, but it is worth it's weight in gold!

I was in Abu Dhabi on a GroupWise 5.5 installation After spending 3 months telling the customer about the pit-falls of ms-exchange over the benefits of GroupWise and eventually succeeding. The install went well until I realized on Sunday afternoon that vital installation information was unavailable and was back at my office in the UK In desperation I woke a colleague at InfoSys in the UK to be told that I-Folder was up running and available. I logged in with the customer behind me and within 3 minutes had all the documentation, including user lists router information, DNS data, the whole lot. The customer was so impressed we are back out there in March to upgrade the whole site to NW6 and GW6. Nice One Novell!

I finally, although a little cautiously, took the step and loaded all of my important data into my iFolder. Shortly thereafter, I was using my laptop and the system board short circuited and completely smoked my hard drive. The building tech installed a new system board and hard drive that afternoon. I then logged into my iFolder account and all of my files were there and then downloaded to my computer. The data contained reports with over 3 years of data that I had worked on, that I had no other copy of.

I received a call to both demonstrate and present to the Northeast Apple SE team. So I worked on my demo, and just to be sure, I saved my presentation to my iFolder. Upon arriving at the Apple offsite, a couple of people made a comment about me using a Dell to demo, and present to Apple. Thinking quickly, I asked if anybody had PowerPoint, and once I got my audience volunteer, we proceeded to connect to iFolder and pulled down the presentation. To say the least, iFolder helped me appease my audience, and I was also able to clearly demonstrate NetWare 6's Native File Access for Mac's and show the Apple folk the advantage of getting our mutual customers to upgrade to NetWare 6.

I needed a way to share proposals and more importantly revisions of documents under development that needed input from different people. So I created the first "weFolder"! We expanded its use to include management and financial reporting tools so all consultants could keep up-to-date with financial metrics. One consultant even created an index.html page to organize more than 300MB of files.

As the Country Manager I need to work on reports and presentation on the go, i.e. spending a lot of time at home to try to finish reports and traveling to the countries I covered (Malaysia, Thailand & Philippines) where I can work on them while I am traveling. The greatest advantage of iFolder in my experience was that I do not have to worry about which versions I am working on as I always get the latest version of my work from iFolder. This saves me a tremendous amount time as I do not have to worry about backing up my files, which was the latest version that I worked on and backed up and virus attacked. It allowed me to utilize my time while waiting in airports and to work on my reports in hotel and multiple other locations.

Due to having too many files to manage, synchronizing the correct data in different files are detrimental to me as I do not want to send wrong discount levels to different customer base. With Novell iFolder, I can quote freely without having headaches of file updates in my desktop or notebook. Also once amendments have been made, I am not worried what versions of file to be used. Novell iFolder helped me manage all that. I only need to access Internet and run iFolder and my data are synchronized. I saved time and embarrassment in making pricing mistakes, all thanks to Novell iFolder!
