NetWare Migration Wizard 8.0
Overview
NetWare® Migration Wizard 8.0 is a user-friendly server migration utility that simplifies and accelerates the migration of data from older servers to new server hardware. With NetWare Migration Wizard, you can migrate entire volumes or specific directories within the volumes from earlier versions of NetWare to later versions of NetWare.
Bundled with NetWare 6.5 and Novell® Open Enterprise Server, NetWare Migration Wizard 8.0 allows you to migrate the file system and Novell eDirectory™ (formerly Novell Directory Services) database from a NetWare 5.1, NetWare 6.0 or NetWare 6.5 source server to a faster, more reliable NetWare 6.0 or NetWare 6.5 destination server. After the files and eDirectory database are migrated, the destination server replaces and assumes the identity of the source server on the network.
Important: To perform a migration from a NetWare 3 or NetWare 4 source server, or to perform a migration to a NetWare 5.1 destination server, use NetWare Migration Wizard 6.5, which is available as a free download from http://download.novell.com.

With the NetWare Migration Wizard, you model your migration project using simple drag-and-drop procedures before you actually perform the migration. This helps prevent errors from interrupting your data migration and allows you to correct mistakes before they happen. Because of its versatility, NetWare Migration Wizard 8.0 eliminates the complexities that often accompany the migration and upgrade processes. It is a server migration utility anyone can use.
New Features in NetWare Migration Wizard
Building on the innovative features found in previous version of the NetWare Migration Wizard, version 8.0 lets you:
- Filter the files you want to copy according to the date
- Exclude specific file types or file names from the copy process
- Synchronize file and folders so that data deleted after you run a migration project is also deleted on the destination server if you run the project again
- Automatically compare file information between the source and destination after the copy process is complete to validate the integrity of the file copy

The NetWare Migration Wizard 8.0 is bundled with NetWare 6.5 and with Novell Open Enterprise Server. The latest version is also available as a free download from http://download.novell.com. This server migration utility is run from a Windows 2000/XP Professional Edition workstation on the network and requires the Novell Client™ for Windows NT/2000/XP version 4.9 SP2 or later.
