openSUSE is created by the openSUSE project and is freely downloadable from Novell or from mirror sites around the world. At openSUSE.org, you have the choice of downloading the latest released version of openSUSE (version 10.3), or the newest development build of the next version of openSUSE. There is also a live version of openSUSE 10.3 available for download as an ISO image. This version runs entirely from the bootable DVD and is not installed on the hard disk. If you want to get to know openSUSE or test if your hardware is fully supported, the live version is the right choice for you. Please note that download versions of openSUSE are not eligible for free installation support. |
