Advanced Workflow
Workflow enables users to automate routine processes in a few quick steps. ICEing for Advanced Workflow, an inexpensive add-on module for Novell Teaming + Conferencing, enables anyone to apply sophisticated business processes to collaboration content — with no programming required.
Advanced Workflow turns the built-in workflow engine into a powerful application development engine that can be used by the people who understand and own the business processes. It includes capabilities gathered from hundreds of professionals involved with business process.
Transition an entry from one state to another — for example, from "In review" to "Approved" — based on:
- Survey of users
- Time that the entry has remained in a state
- Value of a variable contained in a form
- User actions (such as add a Comment)
- Outcome of another workflow process
Parallel workflows enable separate workflows (business processes) to transition content into multiple states simultaneously. For example, a financial document might be going through an editorial review process. At some point in that process, a separate process can be initiated to audit the spreadsheet numbers embedded in the document. Only when both workflows are complete can the document transition into a "Publish" state.
