This guide will explain how to import a workspace or landing page into Novell Vibe. To find a zip file of a workspace to import, please go to the Workspace section of the Resource Library and choose one that you would like to download. Note: You will need to have administrator rights in order to import/export workspaces and folders.
Once you have downloaded the zip file and placed it on your desktop, follow these instructions:
- Login to Novell Vibe and navigate to the area where you would like to store the workspace you will import.
- From the top menu, select workspace then import/export workspace (if you do not see the option to Import/Export Workspace it is because you do not have proper access controls, check with the workspace owner or administrator.)
- At the top of the new page, you will see two radio button options. Select Import into This Folder or Workspace. You will now see the option to browse and select the zip folder containing the workspace you wish to import. Search for the workspace on your desktop, select it, and then click OK.
- The time that it takes to import will depend on the size of the workspace. After the import is done you will see a summary screen letting you know the total amount of workspaces, folders, entries, and files that were imported. In addition, the summary will display the errors that took place. Hopefully you will not have any errors while importing. If you do, make sure to read over the error messages, correct them, and try these steps again.
