ZENworks® Control Center has an extensible user interface design that completely integrates security patch management functionality with configuration management.

This integration features patch management controls conveniently located in logical sections of the ZENworks Control Center. The ZENworks Control Center user interface has been extended to include patch management in many different areas, including:

• Main menu—A "Vulnerabilities" tab in the ZENworks Control Center main menu provides immediate access to core patch management functionality, all implemented according to standard ZENworks Control Center user interface guidelines.
• Device and group management—Security vulnerabilities status and patch management functionality are natural parts of the device and group management screens in Novell ZENworks Configuration Management.
• Settings and configuration—Security Patch Management setting and configuration options are located alongside similar options for configuration management.
• Reporting—Security patch management reports are accessed through the main reporting menu and are generated using the new ZENworks Reporting Server.

As you become familiar with configuration management within ZENworks Control Center, you will be able to leverage that knowledge and experience to become more productive more quickly using ZENworks Patch Management. This tight user interface integration will help you increase network security without having to become proficient with a separate patch management console.
