The Novell ZENworks Network Access Control interface is clean, fast, uncluttered and intuitive, making it one of the easiest security products to use. The quarantined device list is updated in real time, and you can drill down on a specific device to quickly see which tests it failed. You can create access policies by simply clicking on the tests you want to include. System configuration is greatly simplified and accomplished almost entirely through the GUI.

Deep, fast, unobtrusive endpoint testing

Many of our competitors use the Nessus® vulnerability scanner for endpoint testing. This forces you to choose between slow, restricted preconnect testing or a heavy endpoint agent. The ZENworks Network Access Control propriety testing engine applies deep, high-speed, consistent testing to all endpoints, regardless of which of the three available testing methods you employ (e.g., agentless testing, agent-based testing or Web-based testing). And even with our agent-based method, the memory footprint is small-only approximately 5 MB.

Automation and control

Novell ZENworks Network Access Control is automatically updated with new compliance tests, ensuring you are protected against newly identified threats. Tests are continually developed and distributed by Novell, which monitors 24x7x365 for emerging threats.

Endpoint testing and enforcement is also fully automated, although you have the option of maintaining manual control over any part of the process. Whitelists and blacklists of devices can be maintained that give you "always allow" or "always deny" control of select endpoints, such as those belonging to your senior executives. The ZENworks Network Access Control GUI gives you fast, intuitive control of all devices under management, while allowing you to quickly override any automated actions.
