Who directs all your management tools? It doesn't have to be you. Novell ZENworks Orchestrator is a new ZENworks product that serves as the brain behind data center systems management. Orchestrator automates operations so IT tasks are done consistently and according to policy every time. As a result, you're not in fire-drill mode, working on repetitive, labor-intensive tasks.

Orchestrator keeps your physical and virtual resources working together and focused on your business priorities. When a problem arises, Orchestrator can automatically take action. For example, it can find available space on the network, configure a new virtual server, and have it up and running to perform whatever business-critical task is needed.

The Orchestrator also manages virtual resources, controlling the entire lifecycle of each virtual machine. The Orchestrator is a third-generation orchestration engine that is built from the ground up to meet the requirements of on-demand computing. It combines the following capabilities:

• Real-time availability

In general, competitive products feature a global job scheduler and workload manager to orchestrate "jobs" across a distributed environment.
