Features & Benefits

Control Wireless Connectivity
Keep your secrets from leaking out over coffee. Unprotected wireless networks pose multiple threats to businesses. Users can inadvertently compromise both local and corporate data, from a wireless hotspot or even from the office. Hackers can easily find openings in an unprotected system on an access point or hotspot and run scripted, peer-to-peer attacks. Novell now provides the industry's first centrally managed endpoint security software solutions to control and manage wireless connectivity. More +
Limit Wireless Devices
Control costs by limiting the hardware they can use. AdapterAwareT technology lets you specify which Wi-Fi adapters can be used, limiting connectivity to a specific brand or type. This feature reduces IT support costs associated with employees using unsupported hardware. AdapterAware can entirely disable Wi-Fi and other wireless devices (including Bluetooth T, IrDA, etc.), or restrict Wi-Fi connectivity to pre-defined locations.
Control Wireless Access Points
Prevent them from choosing a bogus connection. Control Wi-Fi access point connectivity by group and location, while preventing connections to rogue access points. AccessAware lets you automatically distribute and apply WEP pre-shared keys without user intervention. Administrators can control key length and can even set signal strength thresholds to manage AP switching. It even blocks users from connecting to unauthorized access points and reports these devices to the management console for immediate remediation.
Adapt to their location
When they're inside, you can lighten up. WhereAwareT technology adapts endpoint Wi-Fi policies as users move from location to location, either inside or outside of your corporate security perimeter. You can control the minimum encryption strength required for connectivity, ensuring users are connecting to access points with the appropriate encryption strength.
Control USB Storage devices
Don't let your secrets walk out the door on a thumb drive. Get control over the use of local optical media (CD-R/W, DVD+/-R/W) and all attached storage devices such as USB thumb drives, floppy drives, Zip drives, and mp3 players. You can set policy-based restrictions on device access privileges, which protects the integrity and confidentiality of data on the endpoints, while simultaneously protecting the endpoint from the introduction of malware and any other unauthorized activities. Control by serial number
Get specific. You'll have amazingly granular control over which devices are allowed, blocked, or read only. You can automatically scan devices for their name and serial number and then allow, disallow or render read-only-specific devices. A separate utility is also available for capturing device names and serial numbers in a master list that can then be imported into a policy.
Ensure the audit trail
Get protection against unauditable transactions. Don't let people use local storage devices that can copy data without leaving an audit trail. These transactions are blocked by either completely disallowing use of such devices everywhere, or disallowing their use based on an endpoint's network location. Storage devices can be placed in read-only mode or fully disabled, while the endpoint hard drive and all network drives remain accessible and operational.
Reports and alerts
Get the kind of reports you need to handle threats. Reports can include relevant location information, the names of files transferred to removable storage devices, their sizes, who transferred them, when the file was transferred and what device.
