Why users will love GroupWise 8
There's never been a better GroupWise than 8. Novell raises the bar on user productivity with a highly connected workspace that includes the web resources you love to use.
Set up your dashboard with a few clicks to reflect the way you work. Put contacts in one panel, email in another. Make your task list as big as it needs to be. Share your calendar to a URL so that you can schedule meetings with people both inside and outside the company.
Then create another panel for your Web pages, wikis and blogs, and another one for the RSS feeds you subscribe to. There's no reason to leave your dashboard to stay on top of things.
Why administrators will love GroupWise 8
Microsoft servers go down so often that downtime is planned into IT activities. With GroupWise, your system doesn't tend to go down unless you take it down. Think of what it would be like to do without Patch Tuesdays. With GroupWise, that's a reality.
Novell makes it possible to support up to 10,000 users on a single server. Better yet, one administrator can manage several thousand GroupWise user accounts; in fact, many current Novell customers manage 5,000-10,000 users with only one administrator. (Yes, you read that right.)
Microsoft Exchange requires a Windows-centric infrastructure. By contrast, Novell technology runs on multiple server, client and mobile device operating systems. You really can have it exactly like you want it.
Customer Buzz
We have more than 5,000 users, and we've done three successful migrations from Exchange to GroupWise...I manage the 5,000 accounts, 15 post offices, five MTAs and two GWIAs by myself. I'd have to clone myself at least few times if we successfully migrated to another system. It's not that I'm that efficient—GroupWise is.
We are now have more than 20,000 mailboxes currently running GroupWise 7.0.3. We have to say that the system runs itself. Overall, we have never lost any e-mails and our availability has been an average of 99.9 percent available monthly.
In our 10 years of using GroupWise, it has never once become corrupt, suffered downtime or disappointed...I have three favorite features: 1) Proxy access—try that with Exchange! 2) Find—powerful, fast and accurate! 3) No viruses—can Outlook say that?
