symptom

NAL Install of application from Systray: Error D01C.

When running an application install from the NAL delivered object in the systray, the install fails

Error: Could not configure workstation for application [.<application_name>.<context>] (id=1) or (id=-1).

Problem: Unable to process Group/Shortcut setting [C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\<application_directory>\<application_name xxx.lnk]. (D01C)

Problem: Unable to process Group/Shortcut setting [C:\Documents and Settings\<Profile>\Start Menu\Programs\<Application_Name.Ink]. (D01C)

fix

This was reported as an issue with ZENworks 2.0/NAL 3.0 but IE 4 was applied to the workstation and the problem did not happen again.  IE 4 or later can be checked in ZENworks 1.1/NAL 2.7 environments to see if it resolves the issue as well.  If the issue persists in the ZENworks 1.1/NAL 2.7 environment but not in the ZENworks 2/NAL 3.0 environment, ZEN 2/NAL 3.0 is the solution.

For the ZENworks 3.2 environment
