The destroy connection code path is not executed properly if the Novell login prompt is invoked by a method other than using CTRL-ALT-DEL.

fix

This issue is addressed for the Novell Client 4.8 for Windows NT/2000 with NWGINA.DLL 25OCT2000 or later. An NWGINA.DLL 24APR2001 build is currently available as a field test file for Novell Client 4.8 for Windows NT/2000 in 264028.EXE available from the Novell Support Connection file finder.  These files will be included in the next public client update for the Novell Client 4.8 for Windows NT/2000, if and when available.

This issue is addressed for the Novell Client 4.71 for Windows NT/2000 with NWGINA.DLL 25OCT2000 or later.  Currently the NWGINA.DLL 25OCT2000 build for the Novell Client 4.71 for Windows NT/2000 is available as part of the NT471PT3.EXE available from the Novell Support Connection file finder.

Background:

Perform the following steps to duplicate the issue:
1.  Boot your NT or 2000 machine
2.  Do a workstation only login
3.  Login to NetWare using the red N
4.  Close all programs and login as another user.

These connections are not cleaned up.

Log in as another user, on the same machine.  The client does not destroy the previous connection.  Monitor will show 2 connections with asterisks next to them.  There will be another user (or that same user) logged in again if they choose to login a 2nd time with the same node address.
