fact

Novell eDirectory 8.6 for Windows 2000

Novell eDirectory 8.6 for Windows NT

symptom

eDirectory Service does not start because of database corruption.

Unable to run DSREPAIR.DLM

NDS Services window is blank

NDSCONS.EXE window is blank

cause

Server was rebooted because Windows server froze and eDirectory database would not open.

fix

Bring up a DOS window. 

Change to the DIBFILES directory on your Windows Server (NOTE:  the default location of the DIBFILES directory is in NOVELL\NDS directory.)   

Type   "..\DHOST DSREPAIR"   to launch DSREPAIR.DLM
