How to manually remove Password Synchronization 1.0

Failed install of password sync 1.0

Uninstalling password sync 1.0

Uninstalling password synchronization 1.0


On the pwdsync service machine...

1. run regedit.exe and delete the following keys:


(b) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{18b12728-da0e-45e6-a0c2-a38b35aadf33}

(c) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\DirXML Password Synchronization for Windows NT/2000

2. reboot the machine.

On any domain controllers where the filter may have been installed:

1. run regedt32.exe and:

(a) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA, edit the Notification Packages value and remove the NWPWDFLT entry.

(b) delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\NwPwdFlt key.

(c) delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\PWDSYNC key.

2. reboot the machine.

Delete the objects out of eDirectory:

1. Delete the Password Provider Objects (there will be two that are below the Password Synchronization Object).

2. Delete the Password Synchronization Object.
