goal

Improving Account Management 3.0 Agent performance.

fact

Novell Account Management 3.0

symptom

Agent is allocating a large amount of memory and/or passwords are taking a long time to replicate on external platforms.

cause

This is caused by an LDAP search by the Agent taking too long because the LDAP server it's using does not have a needed index

fix

Add an index for the "ASAM-inputReference" attribute to all LDAP servers used by Account Management 3.0 (AM 3.0) Agents. The index should be a "value" type index. Indexes can be edited using ConsoleOne by opening the properties of the eDirectory Server object for the server.
