The user is using the ZENworks NAL v2.5 product and Nalntsrv.exe that comes with NAL 2.5 to try and install and distribute the McAfee VirusProtect for NT v3.20 to a Secure Windows NT 4.0 workstation where users only have the power users rights (In which users have no local administrator rights to the box.]. The user has created an application object and is running and pointing to a path to run Setup.exe for McAfee. When NAL is launched from a login script, the McAfee application fails to install to a Secure Desktop.
If the users are members of the local administrators group, then the McAfee application will install sucessfully.
This method of implementation will not work because when you use a path to a executable within an application object as above rather than running Snapshot and creating a .AOT file, Nal v2.5 is not really pushing down the application and therefore Nalntsrv.exe will not grant the necessary rights to install the files to a Secure Desktop.
For this to work, they need to:
1. Grant administrator rights to the local workstations or
2. Run snapshot and run setup for McAfee using a system account, logged in as administrator and then this will create a AOT file and .exe that will be ran from NAL and NALexpd and this will use Nalntsrv.exe and push the app down to a secure desktop.
