Environment

Novell ConsoleOne 1.3.6

Situation

In the Australian states of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory, DST is changing

Daylight Savings in the US and Canada is changing.

New Zealand DST is changing.

ConsoleOne on each of the supported platforms includes a Java Runtime Environment (JRE).  ConsoleOne 1.3.6 through 1.3.6d use JRE version 1.4.1_01 and ConsoleOne 1.3.6e uses JRE version 1.4.2_05.

The JRE stores rules about DST observance all around the globe. Older JREs (prior to 1.4.2_11) will have outdated rules that will be superseded by the US Energy Policy Act of 2005 and the various legislative changes in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. As a result, all versions of ConsoleOne prior to and including 1.3.6f will report incorrect time from March 11, 2007 through April 2, 2007 and from October 29, 2007 through November 4, 2007.  In New Zealand, ConsoleOne will report incorrect time from September 30, 2007 through October 7, 2007. In the Australian states of N.S.W., Victoria and S.A., and the Australian Capital Territory, ConsoleOne will report incorrect time from Sunday March 30 2008 to Sunday April 6 2008 (one week).
