The above errors are seen when running a DSREPAIR | Repair Network addresses for a Windows server.
Resolution
When running a DSREPAIR | Repair Network addresses a DNS lookup of
the server name will fail if the DS server name and host name
differ. (Note: By default the host name and DS server name
differ as the eDirectory install automatically appends "-NDS" on to
the host name.
To work around this issue, do the following:
Add an entry in the hosts file corresponding to the DS server name and the IP address of the machine.
By default for Windows 2003, the hosts file should reside in the C:/Windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts.
By default for Windows 2000, the hosts file should reside in the C:/WINNT/system32/drivers/etc/hosts.
