uname -r

For SLES8 FCS through SP2a, use the command:

rpm -qa | grep k_

You would then see something like k_deflt-2.4.19-246. This is the kernel rpm and shows the full kernel version of the installed kernel.

To determine the architecture version, use the command:

uname -m
