Situation
eGuide is slow at displaying search requests, taking around 30 seconds. Once results are displayed no problems are seen. The only issue is the speed of each search.
A packet trace shows LDAP search request are being returned back to the eGuide server within a reasonable time.
The eGuide server is not showing any signs of errors, eg CPU is not in high utilisation, no reported memory issues.

Resolution
eGuide was configured with multiple LDAP addresses, one or more LDAP sources were either misconfigured or unreachable. eGuide appears to be timing out when attempting to contact these LDAP servers.
