Environment

Novell GroupWise 8 Client for Windows

Configuration:
Novell GroupWise 8 Windows Client installed on Windows XP SP3
Novell GroupWise 8 Windows Client installed on Windows XP Support Pack 3
Novell GroupWise 8 Windows Client installed on Windows Vista
Novell GroupWise 8 Windows Client installed on Windows Vista SP1
Novell GroupWise 8 Windows Client installed on Windows Vista Support Pack 1

Situation

Symptoms:
When viewing the Summary information dialog for a Contact the font is to small or tiny to read.
When composing a new email in Webaccess the message body font is to small or tiny to read.

Resolution

The problem is resolved by changing the Text Size in Internet Explorer.
Steps to fix:
1. Close the GroupWise client
2. Open Internet Explorer (if not already open)
3. Click on Page (the top right hand side) or View in the menu bar.
4. Select Text Size
5. Change the Text Size to Medium
  a. If the Text Size is already Medium
  b. Change the Text Size to Smaller
  c. Change the Text Size back to Medium
6. Exit Internet Explorer
7. Restart the GroupWise Client

Additional Information

Root Cause:
The problem is actually caused by the fact that the GroupWise client is using Internet Explorer (or the default browser) for html rendering and editing.
