This document (7002466) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

Novell GroupWise 8 client for Macintosh

Situation

Error launching GroupWise 8 client for Macintosh
Error: "Cannot launch Java application.  Uncaught exception in main method: java.lang.StackOverflowError"
For specific users, GroupWise 8 client for Macintosh hangs after the user clicks "OK" button to login

Resolution

The problem with the "java.lang.StackOverflowError" when starting the GroupWise 8 client for Macintosh happens because the problem users have changed the display order of their calendar list (for example, they have dragged a personal calendar above the standard GroupWise calendar).

The problem is expected to be resolved in the GroupWise 8.0 Hot Patch 1 client for Macintosh.

Users can also resolve the problem by logging in with a Windows client, then clicking Edit > Calendars, then highlighting "Calendar" and clicking the "Move Up" button until "Calendar" is at the top of the list, then clicking "OK" to save the changes.
