WebAccess 8 status is displayed as dead

Environment

Novell GroupWise 8
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2)
Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10

Situation

WebAccess 8 status is displayed as dead
rcgrpwise status displays webaccess status as dead
rcgrpwise status displays WEBAC80A as dead
WebAccess 8 periodically changes to dead status
After a few hours WebAccess 8 goes to dead status

Resolution

1. Stop WebAccess on Linux
2. Delete the wpcsin and wpcsout folders located in webac80a folder
3. Delete WEBAC80A object in ConsoleOne
4. Run install script for GroupWise 8
5. Click Install products
6. Click GroupWise WebAccess
7. Install WebAccess agent
8. Configure WebAccess agent
9. Copy commgr.cfg to /opt/novell/groupwise/webaccess
10. Restart Apache2 and Tomcat
11. Start GroupWise WebAccess
12. Check rcgrpwise status

Additional Information

If WebAccess 8 is installed with web-publisher then copy commgr.cfg to /opt/novell/groupwise/webpublisher
