Situation
When attempting to restore messages from a backup of a post office, it is possible to receive an 8201 error for a number of reasons. The error is normally generated when a directory path is invalid for a restore area or insufficient rights exist to the restore area.
Resolution
Possible Corrective Actions:
1. Copy the *.DC files from the production environment to the restored data area of the post office.
2. In a NetWare environment, make sure that the EDirectory user that is specified in the POA startup file (using the /user and /password switches) has the necessary rights to the volume where the post office backup is located. Also, verify that the password is correct.
3. In a Linux environment, make sure that the userid that owns the POA process is also the owner of the restore area.
