Situation
Error -609 in Report Sync Status that rotates through different objects
-609 errors in DSREPAIR
-609 errors were reporting on objects that were not unknown.
Checked objects in DSBROWSE or DSVIEW and nothing appeared wrong.

Resolution
Make sure your servers are patched to the latest service pack. After patching many times this issue is resolved.
Search for and delete unknown objects in the partition.
1. Load DSBROWSE
2. Go to Object Search and put an * in the name field and the word "unknown" in the Class field.
3. Press F10 to run the search.
4. Identify unknown objects in the partition and delete them. Do not delete important objects like servers.
If all else fails, you can try to remove all replicas off of a server and cleaning up replica rings. If not sure about the procedure, call Novell Tech Support or see TID #7001592 - Manually Removing All Replicas From a Server; DSREPAIR -XK2 for more information on the -XK2 procedure.

Additional Information
One server was found in the tree that was not seen by partition effected with the -609 errors. This server had the replica in a dying state. Server also held subordinate references for child partitions and child partitions saw this server in their ring.
Found a R/W replica of the partition effected in a dying state. This replica was not seen by anyone else in the ring.
Server was not patched and schema was inconsistent
The object reporting the -609 is fine but it references an unknown object
