Situation
What is the best way to manage a mixed GroupWise 8 and GroupWise 7 system?
Can I use GroupWise 8 Snapins against a GroupWise 7 domain in a mixed system?
Can I use GroupWise 8 Snapins against a GroupWise 7 domain in a mixed system?
Resolution
GroupWise 8 Snapins can be used to administer GroupWise 7 domains and
post offices in a mixed GroupWise 8 and GroupWise 7 system.
Do not use GroupWise 7 snapins to administer a GroupWise 8 system or against a GroupWise 8 domain unless instructed to do so by Novell Support.
Administrators can continue to use the GroupWise 7 snapins for the adminitration of GroupWise 7 domains and post offices in a mixed system as long as the administrator does not connect to a GroupWise 8 domain to do so.
Do not use GroupWise 7 snapins to administer a GroupWise 8 system or against a GroupWise 8 domain unless instructed to do so by Novell Support.
