This document (7003538) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

Novell GroupWise 8
Novell GroupWise 7
Microsoft Windows 2008 Server
Microsoft Windows 2003 Server - 64 bit

Situation

Administrators who attempt to launch Document Properties Maintenance from ConsoleOne on a 64-bit Windows Server platform will fail with no outward error listed.

Steps to Duplicate:

From ConsoleOne on a 64-bit Windows Server Platform:

1. Select a Post Office
2. In ConsoleOne Choose Tools | Groupwise Utilities | Document Properties Maintenance.

Expected Result: Document Properties Maintenance should open

Resolution

This is a known issue when running OWL apps (which gwdpmb32.exe is) on 64-bit Windows. The way to resolve the problem is to add gwdpmb32.exe to the list of excluded programs in the Data Execution Prevention list.

To access the list from the Windows Desktop go into the Control Panel | System | Advanced System Settings | Performance | Data Execution Prevention tab. The setting has to be set to "Turn on DEP except...." and then add gwdpmb32.exe to the list of exceptions.
