Situation

How to trap Messages for Gwia

Resolution

1. Doubleclick the GWIA object (details on GWIA object) (ConsoleOne for 7.0,& 8.0)
2. Select the "Server Directories" Tab, then select Advanced.
3. Enter a path such as \\server\volume\GW\DOMAIN\WPGATE\GWIA\THIRD.
4. Select OK.
5. Create this directory (THIRD) manually.
6. Exit and then restart GWIA. The restart message sent to GWIA from ConsoleOne.
7. Confirm that GWIA created the SEND, RECEIVE, and RESULT directories under the GWIA\THIRD directory.

Inbound messages will accumulate in the <domain>\WPGATE\GWIA\THIRD\RECEIVE directory.
Outbound messages will accumulate in the <domain>\WPGATE\GWIA\SEND directory.

After the necessary message files have been trapped for troubleshooting purposes:

1. Delete the path specified in "Server Directories" , "Advanced" field.
2. Copy any valid inbound messages from the GWIA\THIRD\RECEIVE directory to the GWIA\RECEIVE directory.
3. Exit and restart GWIA.

Note:  The SMTP daemon will patrol the THIRD\SEND directory and deliver any outbound messages that are put there.

If you only want to trap Outbound traffic you can do the following:
1. Edit details of the GWIA object in (Consoleone for GroupWise 7 or 8.0).
2. On the SMTP/MIME Settings tab edit the "Number of SMTP Send Threads" and set it to 0.
3. Save the changes and restart GWIA.
The messages will build in the SEND directory and not process.  After the message is trapped change the setting back and restart the GWIA.
