Situation
GroupWise Agents go defunct while shutting down
GroupWise Agents do not shut down properly
GroupWise Agents status shows dead after it is shutdown using a "rcgrpwise stop" command or a "kill" command
"rcgrpwise status" shows dead after doing a "rcgrpwise stop"
"ps -aux | grep gwmta" or "ps -aux | grep gwpoa" or "ps -aux | grep gwia" shows defunct
GroupWise Agents do not shut down properly

Resolution
This was an issue with GroupWise 8 without any Support Pack. Please download and apply the latest Support Pack for GroupWise
