Auto Reply messages bounce back with a "501 Syntax error"

Environment

Products:
Novell GroupWise 8
Novell GroupWise 8 Hot Patch 1
Novell GroupWise 8 Hot Patch 2
 
Configuration:
GWIA.CFG contains a /hn switch with quotes

Situation

Auto Reply messages bounce back with a "501 Syntax error"
Auto Forward messages work fine
ERROR:"501 Syntax error" on auto reply messages
Unable to perform Auto Reply to Internet Messages though the option is enabled in GWIA

Resolution

Apply GroupWise 8 Support Pack 1 or later. 
 
 
Please follow the steps listed in the following link to apply the GroupWise Patch
 
 
Workaround Steps:
  1. Edit GWIA.CFG.
  2. Remove the quotes from /hn switch. Change /hn-"xxx.yyy.com" to /hn-xxx.yyy.com
    OR
    Move /hn-"xxx.yyy.com" to the top of the file.
  3. Save the file.
  4. Restart GWIA by following the steps listed below:
    Linux - Type "rcgrpwise stop gwia.DomainName " and "rcgrpwise start gwia.DomainName " on Linux.
    NetWare - Press F7 to exit GWIA and then type the path to GWIA.NCF.
    Windows - Click Start | Run  and type services.msc and restart GWIA service from there.
