Unable to perform auto-update of GroupWise Clients for POA running on Linux

  3. Browse to the Domain Directory and click OK.
  4. Click Tools | GroupWise System Operations | Software Directory Management.

The path that it shows in UNC path should be accessible from the workstation. There are times when the exact path shown here may not be accessible. For example, the path shows \\mysles\opt\novell\groupwise\software but the exact path may not be accessible. The exact accessible path from Windows may be \\mysles\software if samba share is created for just the software directory. There are two ways to work around this

Create a samba share to /opt directory with opt as a sharename. Follow the steps listed in the following link to create a Samba Share
    https://www.novell.com/documentation/sles10/sles_admin/?page=/documentation/sles10/sles_admin/data/sec_samba_serv_inst.html

    OR

Edit the Software Distribution Directory and in the field "UNC Path" type /software considering that the accessible path is \\mysles\software. Also /software may not be a valid directory on the Linux server but UNC path should have /software for the path to become \\mysles\software .

The above also holds true if an NSS volume is being used. If the fields UNC Path and Linux Path, both contain, /media/nss/GWVOL/grpwise/software, then the UNC path becomes \\mysles\media\nss\GWVOL\grpwise\software but a Windows workstation would browse to it as \\mysles\GWVOL\grpwise\software . In that case, change the UNC field to /GWVOL/grpwise/software leaving the Linux Path field intact.
