ERROR:User unknown, when sending email to "nickname@internetdomain.com"

Resolution

Corrective Actions :-

1.Highlight GroupWise system | Tools | GroupWise System Operations | Internet Addressing
2. a. For GroupWise 7 - check UserID@INTERNET domain name under allowed address format
    b. For GroupWise 8 -   Select Addressing Formats  Tab | Select UserID@Internet domain name

3. Select ok
4. Restart GWIA
Result:-
User should now receive  mails with nickname@domain.com

Additional Information

Allowed Address Formats
Select the address formats to be supported for incoming messages and for POP3/IMAP4 logins.
GroupWise delivers a message to the recipient if any of the allowed formats have been used in the address.
Because the allowed address formats apply to POP3/IMAP4 logins, do not deselect UserID@Internet_domain_name if you have POP3/IMAP4 users. This would prevent them from logging in with their GroupWise user IDs, and using a different format would be inconvenient for them.
